The Second Weekend of the Senior British Clubs League, Championship Division, Promises Thrilling Action
The second weekend of the Senior British Clubs League, Championship Division, promises to be just as thrilling as the first, with only two points separating the top seven teams in the league table. The opening weekend saw a highly competitive set of matches, with every team earning at least one point, and no team remaining undefeated – a stark contrast to last season, when champions London Academy were never defeated.
With London no longer part of the division, the other teams have shown they can all take points off each other, with Wymondham leading the standings with 6 points, just one ahead of a group of four teams.
Wymondham Faces Off Against Max Radiven of Perry Dale
Wymondham’s first fixture will see them face off against the outstanding player from the opening weekend, Max Radiven of Perry Dale. Radiven’s eight wins from eight matches have propelled him to the top of the averages, and his performances were a significant factor in Perry Dale’s fourth-place position. The left-handed Radiven has further enhanced his reputation since the first weekend, winning two titles on the WTT Youth Contender circuit, including the Under-15 Boys’ Singles gold in both Georgia and Kosovo.
Other Matches in the First Round
- Second-placed Woodford Wells will take on Wensum, who were winless but managed two draws in the opening round.
- Third-placed Nottingham will host Ormesby II.
- BATTS II will face bottom club Urban.
- Milton Keynes will battle Ormeau in the first round of fixtures on Saturday.
With three more rounds of matches to follow, the clubs will have played a total of eight matches by the end of Sunday, as the competition reaches its halfway point.
