Abraham Sellado, Sienna Jetha, and Ralph Pattison all secured double gold on the opening day of the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet, U17 & Junior National Championships at the David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham. Each player added the singles title to the doubles crown they had already won earlier in the day.
In a thrilling final, fifth seed Abraham Sellado fought off a determined challenge from top seed Max Radiven, prevailing in a nail-biting 3-2 (8-11, 11-4, 1-6, 10-12, 11-9) victory to claim his first national singles title. Sellado had earlier defeated his friend and doubles partner Kacper Piwowar in the semi-finals.

Top seed Sienna Jetha was equally impressive, cruising to the U17 girls’ singles crown with a 3-0 (11-7, 11-5, 11-8) triumph over Eva Eccles in the final. Jetha had to recover from dropping the second game against Brooke Morris in the semi-finals before finding her form to win 3-1.
Ralph Pattison finally secured the U17 boys’ singles title, defeating Larry Trumpauskas 3-1 (11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 11-6) in the final. Pattison had to overcome a stern challenge from fourth seed Jakub Piwowar in the quarter-finals before easing past Max Radiven in the semis.
