Table Tennis Stars Converge in Gloucester for Grand Prix Action
Gloucester, May 20, 2024 – The table tennis community is gearing up for an exciting weekend of competition as several previous champions make their way to Gloucester for the latest installment of the Grand Prix series.
Men’s Singles Event
In the Men’s Singles event, top seed Grigory Vlasov will be the player to watch. Vlasov most recently won the category at the Preston GP in October and has claimed at least one Grand Prix title in each of the last five seasons, save for the pandemic-affected years. Challenging him will be the second and third seeds, Radosloav Kamberov, the reigning champion of this event, and Josh Bennett, last season’s Crawley GP winner.
Women’s Singles Draw
The Women’s Singles draw is led by national Under-21 champion Tianer Yu, who triumphed at the Crawley Grand Prix last season. Yu will face stiff competition from Tsz Yan Nancy Yeh and Ewelina Sychta, both of whom have found success in the Banded categories at previous Grand Prix tournaments.
As always, the competition format will feature banded play on Saturday, followed by a series of age-group events on Sunday. Fans are encouraged to download the program and familiarize themselves with the group draws to enhance their enjoyment of the action-packed weekend.
Table tennis enthusiasts won’t want to miss this thrilling Grand Prix event in Gloucester, where the sport’s top talents will converge to showcase their skills and vie for coveted titles. With a lineup of former champions and rising stars, the stage is set for an unforgettable display of table tennis excellence.
