Worthing Table Tennis Club’s Primary School Festival Delights Young Players

Worthing Table Tennis Club Hosts Primary School Festival

On November 8, 2024, the Worthing table tennis club hosted its first primary school festival at the club’s home, Bohunt School. The event saw 70 young boys and girls, many of whom were newcomers to the sport, engage in a series of skill-based activities testing their hand-eye coordination, focus, accuracy, and balance.

The festival featured school teams competing for points across various stations, with the aim of determining the winning school. Worthing TTC’s head coach, Matt Porter, emphasized the importance of such events, as they provide young children with the opportunity to experience the joy and accessibility of table tennis. Porter noted that the limited exposure of the sport makes these festivals crucial in showcasing its fun and inclusivity.

Each child who participated received a certificate of participation and information about the club’s junior sessions. The successful execution of the festival was made possible through the support of the Worthing Schools Sports Association and the dedicated Worthing TTC volunteers, including 10-year-old Nathaniel.

The winning school of the table tennis festival was West Park Primary in Goring. For more details about Worthing’s school program or club sessions, interested individuals can find the club on Facebook or visit its website.
