Table Tennis England Unveils Transition to Tiered Open Tournaments
As the Competition Review moves forward, the table tennis landscape is set to undergo a significant transformation. The current structure of 1-4* events and Grands Prix will transition to a new system of Tiered Open Tournaments, with most of these changes to be implemented in the 2025/26 season.
However, there are also important adjustments coming in the 2024/25 season, aimed at making the delivery of competitions more accessible and streamlined. In a video message, Neil Rogers, the Head of Competition and Events at Table Tennis England, provides an in-depth explanation of the journey leading to these changes and what the community can expect in the next two seasons.
To summarize the key updates, Table Tennis England is offering members of the table tennis community the opportunity to attend one of two online Q&A sessions on June 25 and June 26, where they can directly engage with the competitions staff and ask any remaining questions. The sessions will run from 6-7:30 pm, and interested individuals can register through a provided form.
“For those unable to attend the live sessions, questions can still be submitted in advance, and the answers will be published alongside the video. The organizers encourage the community to view the informative video first, as it addresses many of the frequently asked questions. However, the live Q&A sessions will offer an additional platform to address any further inquiries.”
