Attention, Table Tennis Enthusiasts!
On May 15, 2024, the highly anticipated Champions Challenge Pantheon 2023 is set to take place at the Leigh Miners Welfare Institute in Twist Lane, Leigh, WN7 4EF. This invitation-only event, organized by Jim Bolton and his colleagues from the Wigan League, has raised over £8,000 for the Wigan & Leigh Hospice to date.
The event, starting at 7:00 pm, will feature some of the region’s top table tennis players competing in a thrilling format. The players will initially face off in two groups, with the group winners meeting in a grand final for the cash prizes. The champion will walk away with £150, while the runner-up will receive £75.
Spectators are warmly invited to attend this exciting tournament, with admission just £3 for adults and free for juniors. Refreshments, including food, snacks, and a fully licensed bar, will be available on-site to enhance the overall experience.
For those unable to attend in person, the matches will be streamed live on the Champions Challenge Facebook page starting at 7:00 pm.
The Champions Challenge Pantheon 2023 boasts an impressive lineup of past winners, including Matthew Westworth (2023), Joe Killoran (2022, 2022 Nat. Vetts O40s), Amirul Hussain (2019, 2016), Rhys Davies (2019), Jack Dempsey (2018, 2017), Pawel Orzechowski (2018, 2017), Jonathon Taylor (2015, 2011), and Mick Moir (2015, 2012, 2011, 2010).
