England’s Dominant Squad Gears Up for European Youth Table Tennis Championships

Seasoned Squad Primed for European Youth Table Tennis Championships

England’s table tennis powerhouse has assembled a formidable 13-member squad packed with national champions for the upcoming European Youth Championships in Sweden this July. Leading the charge are twins Connor and Anna Green, who captured the Junior singles titles in a remarkable display of sibling rivalry at the recent Mark Bates Ltd Cadet, U17 & Junior Nationals.

The older squads will also feature the talents of Under-17 champions Ralph Pattison and Tianer Yu, as well as Cadet champions Abraham Sellado and Sienna Jetha. The full England roster includes:

  • Junior Boys: Connor Green, Isaac Kingham, Ralph Pattison, Ben Piggott, Larry Trumpauskas
  • Junior Girls: Anna Green, Sienna Jetha, Ella Pashley, Tianer Yu
  • Cadet Boys: Adam Alibhai, Kacper Piwowar, Max Radiven, Abraham Sellado

The Championships, slated for July 12-21 in Malmo, will commence with the team events, followed by the individual (singles and doubles) competitions.

While the Cadet Girls team will not be represented, Head of Performance Development Gavin Evans explained the decision, stating that the focus is on providing the “right exposure at the right time” for optimal development and performance. However, two girls, Violet Lily Marquis and Hannah Saunders, have been selected for the European Under-13 Championships in Romania from May 22-26, alongside their male counterparts Dimitar Dimitrov, Ryan Goodier, and Pablo Ramirez Rioja.

“The organization’s commitment to investing in young female talent and achieving gender parity within their pathway, including the upcoming Talent ID day for under-12 girls.”

This seasoned squad of table tennis prodigies is poised to showcase England’s depth and prowess on the European stage, as they aim to make a lasting impact and bring home the coveted trophies.
