Empowering Women in Table Tennis: Meet the 13 Ambassadors

Empowering Women in Table Tennis: 13 Ambassadors Inspire the Next Generation

In a groundbreaking initiative, Table Tennis England has appointed 13 passionate Women and Girls Ambassadors to help amplify the voices of female players and foster greater inclusion in the sport. The diverse group, hailing from various regions across the country, each brings a unique set of skills and experiences to the role.

The Ambassadors, including Lyndsey Simpson, Kate Grant, Nicia Low, Shams Kaloo, Clare Flynn, Juliet Bertie, Amanda Worne, Chloe Ireland, Holly Holder, Emma Harradine, Gemma McKay, Dory Beke, and Wunmi Adebowale, are committed to improving the visibility of women and girls in table tennis, sharing their personal experiences, and creating more opportunities for participation, coaching, and volunteering.

“The Women and Girls Ambassador programme has a diverse mix of experiences and roles in the sport. We have met as a group already, and I look forward to seeing the impact of the programme.” – Jenny Leach, Senior Partnerships and Programmes Manager

Ambassador Kate Grant echoed the sentiment, stating, “I’m looking forward to the Ambassadors’ journey – who knows who we can engage, encourage and convert to enjoy this wonderful sport!”

The Ambassadors will work closely with their Area Managers and collaborate with the other Ambassadors in their respective regions to amplify the different voices of women and girls in table tennis, improve visibility, and increase opportunities for participation, coaching, and volunteering.

This initiative is a key step towards Table Tennis England’s vision of achieving gender parity in the sport. Regular updates on the Ambassadors’ progress and their impact in their local communities will be shared.

Those interested in volunteering in table tennis are encouraged to visit the Table Tennis England website to learn more and register their interest, as the organization aims to provide relevant opportunities for the growing community of table tennis enthusiasts.
