SBL Premier Division Update: Tight Standings & Impressive Performances

The top three teams in the SBL Premier Division are level on 20 points with just two rounds of fixtures to go this season, following wins for Brighton TTC and Ormesby this weekend.

Ormesby ran out comfortable 6-1 victors against BATTS, with David McBeath picking up his third player of the match award this season and Jose Enio Mendes going unbeaten across the afternoon. The visitors struggled to find their footing, with Luc Miller, Chris Doran, and Ralph Pattison managing to win just one game between them.

Brighton travelled to Ormeau on Sunday, looking to continue their excellent form. The tie was set up nicely at 1-1, with Ihor Zavadskyi getting a win for the visitors and Adam Faulkner beating David Andersson on debut. From then on, it was Brighton who controlled the fixture, with Andersson and Toby Ellis securing wins to give the away side a convincing 6-1 victory.

In the lower mini division, North Ayrshire came through a brilliant all-Scottish tie against Drumchapel Glasgow, winning 4-3. Hugo Torngren and Colin Dalgleish were the standout performers for the away side.

Elsewhere, TableTennisDaily were beaten 5-2 by Fusion, with Larry Trumpauskas named player of the match for his two singles wins and a thrilling doubles victory alongside Joshua Bruce.

The SBL Premier Division returns for the penultimate round on Saturday, April 27th.
