The young talents of the table tennis world were on full display at the recent WTT Youth Contender event in Senec, Slovakia. Among the standout performances, Connor Green reached the Under-19 semi-finals, while Dimitar Dimitrov continued his dominance in the Under-11 age group.
Green’s impressive run saw him win six consecutive matches, including a hard-fought five-game victory over higher-ranked Stepan Brhel in the last 32. However, he faced another formidable opponent in the semi-finals, South Korea’s Lee Jungmok, and despite taking the first two games, eventually succumbed to a 3-2 defeat.
In the Under-11 category, Dimitrov showcased his prowess once again, dropping only one game on his way to the title. The top seed navigated the competition with ease, ultimately claiming the gold medal with a 3-1 win over Singapore’s Cheng Ming Neo in the final. Dimitrov’s success extended to the Under-13 event, where he reached the quarter-finals.
Elsewhere, Abraham Sellado made a quarter-final appearance in the Under-15 category, while Sienna Jetha enjoyed a solid run, reaching the last 16 of the Under-15s and the last 64 of the Under-17s.
