The British Para Table Tennis Team is heading to the ITTF Slovenia Para Open in Lasko from May 7-11, in preparation for the Paralympic Games in Paris. This event marks a significant milestone for the team as they gear up for the upcoming Paralympics.
- A squad of 17 talented British athletes will participate in the tournament, which is known for its high level of competition and includes World and Paralympic champions among the 266 entries.
- Nine British athletes have already secured spots in the Paris Paralympics based on their singles or doubles rankings. This includes Aaron McKibbin, a three-time Paralympic team medalist, aiming for his third consecutive singles title after recent victories at the US Open and Italian Open.

McKibbin is focused on maintaining his peak performance and match readiness for the Paris Paralympics, highlighting the importance of playing against diverse opponents to prepare effectively.
Other qualified Paralympians joining the competition in Slovenia include Rob Davies, Martin Perry, Paul Karabardak, Will Bayley, Billy Shilton, Joshua Stacey, Fliss Pickard, and Bly Twomey.
After Slovenia, athletes like Tom Matthews, Jack Hunter-Spivey, Ross Wilson, Megan Shackleton, and Grace Williams will aim to secure their spots for Paris at the World Paralympic Qualification Tournament in Thailand.
In preparation for upcoming events, athletes including Chris Ryan and Theo Bishop will participate in the Montenegro Para Open alongside a group of Pathway and Futures athletes, such as Bailey Page, making his international debut at just 18 years old.
