Grigory Vlasov Adds Another Men’s Singles Title at Gloucester Grand Prix

Gloucester, May 28, 2024 – In a weekend of thrilling table tennis action, Grigory Vlasov and Tsz Yan Nancy Yeh emerged victorious at the Gloucester Grand Prix. Vlasov claimed the Men’s Singles title, while Yeh triumphed in both the Women’s Singles and Women’s Band 1 events.

Vlasov, the top seed, defeated fourth seed Ismaila Akindiya 3-1 (11-9, 12-10, 9-11, 11-5) in the final. Akindiya had fought his way to the final with two hard-fought five-set victories, but Vlasov proved too strong in the end. This was Vlasov’s second Men’s Singles title of the season, having also won the Preston event in October.

In the Women’s Singles final, Yeh overcame Lok Yee Lo 3-0 (11-7, 11-4, 11-7) to claim the title. Yeh had defeated Sarah Her-Lee 3-0 in the semi-finals, while Lo had edged past para doubles world champion Fliss Pickard 3-1 to reach the final showdown.

Yeh’s successful weekend continued as she also took the Women’s Band 1 title, defeating Lo 3-0 (11-9, 11-9, 11-8) in the final. This marked a double triumph for the talented player.
