North Ayrshire Stun League Champions Brighton to Reach SBL Premier Cup Semi-Finals
In a thrilling quarter-final clash, the host club North Ayrshire dashed Brighton’s hopes of a double by clinching a 4-2 victory to secure their place in the SBL Premier Cup semi-finals. The action-packed encounter took place in Largs, with the live stream available on TTE.TV starting at 2:30 pm on Saturday.
Leading the charge for the Scottish side was Victor Gorman, who bookended the tie with a pair of wins and also teamed up with Martin Johnson to claim the doubles. Gorman’s opening victory over Joseph Langham-Ferreira was followed by Ihor Zavadskyi’s triumph over Johnson, leveling the scores at 1-1. North Ayrshire regained the lead in the doubles, but Will Bayley’s win over Chris Main knotted the match at 2-2, with the Paralympian-in-waiting celebrating wildly as he clinched the decisive point.
The see-saw battle continued, with Johnson overcoming Langham-Ferreira, but Gorman then sealed the semi-final spot for North Ayrshire by comfortably dispatching Bayley in three games.

In the other quarter-final, Ormesby eased past Nottingham 4-0, despite a close encounter that saw two matches go the distance. Abraham Sellado’s dramatic comeback win over Joe Sawyer was a highlight, as was Graeme Barella and Adam Webster’s doubles triumph.
Defending champions BATTS opened their campaign with a 4-1 victory over Fusion, though the scoreline belies the tight nature of the contest. Chris Doran and Josh Bennett secured wins for the home side, with the doubles providing a brief respite for Fusion before BATTS sealed their place in the semis.
