ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking Reveals Paris 2024 Mixed Doubles Qualifiers

The highly anticipated ITTF Table Tennis World Ranking released on May 7, 2024, has finalized the coveted spots for the Mixed Doubles event at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. This sets the stage for an electrifying showdown on the international stage this summer.

Seven elite pairs have secured their tickets to Paris, led by the world’s top-ranked duo of Sun Yingsha and Wang Chuqin from China. The reigning World Champions, who previously struck gold at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, will look to repeat their dominant performance in front of the global audience.

Facing stiff competition, Sun and Wang will be challenged by Korea’s Lim Jonghoon and Shin Yubin, ranked second, as well as Japan’s Hina Hayata and Tomokazu Harimoto, ranked third. The remaining qualifiers include Chen Szu-Yu and Lin Yun-Ju of Chinese Taipei, Romania’s Ovidiu Ionescu and Bernadette Szocs, and Hungary’s Dora Madarasz and Nandor Ecseki.

Rounding out the field, the host nation of France will be represented by Alexis Lebrun and Yuan Jia Nan, earning the final quota spot to compete in front of their home crowd.

The rest of the Mixed Doubles participants are continental champions and winners from the World Mixed Doubles Qualification event held in Havirov, Czech Republic last April.

The Mixed Doubles competition at Paris 2024 will be a historic event, crowning the first-ever Olympic champions in the discipline. The final is scheduled for Wednesday, July 30th at the South Paris Arena #4. Player seedings will be determined by the ITTF World Rankings published on July 16, 2024.

If a National Olympic Committee has qualified a team, all players from the Mixed Doubles event will be included in their respective national rosters.
